West Mersea pier, West Mersea, Essex where the tender takes you out to the Ross Revenge, Radio Caroline's last surviving pirate radio vessel.
The Ross Revenge Mess Room. Visitors to the ship are briefed here before making the tour. I'm behind the camera, so don't figure in these photos.
This is the Radio Caroline studio where DJ's would broadcast from when the duel Dutch service was up and running in the other studio the other side of the window.
This is a modernised version of the old Dutch studio that is only used now a few times a year for live broadcasts via microwave and landline links to a Manx Radio medium wave transmitter on the Isle of Man. If you're lucky you can visit the ship on one of the few weekends when they are broadcasting live from this studio as Radio Caroline North, mimicking the days during the 1960s when Radio Caroline had two radio ships with one broadcasting off the Essex coast as Radio Caroline South, and one off the Isle of Man announcing as Radio Caroline North. The DJ is Peter Philips.
Part of Caroline's vinyl library, although they now use the official music recording industry paid for digital service agreement. Sadly, when the old Radio Caroline South boat 'Mi Amigo' sank during a bad storm in the 1980s lots of valuable music recordings went down with the ship.
